Kiwi and Strawberry leather for kids

METHOD

Commercially prepared fruit leathers are made with processed sweeteners and fats and not so good for kids health. In this recipe you can control sweet content as you like.You can also involve your kids for long lasting child hood memories by taking them out for strawberry picking and bringing home fresh fuit to prepare this recipe. Although this recipe takes upto 3 hours but most of the time you will be doing nothing other than keeping an eye on the oven. The hardest part will be waiting.

Turn on oven and set heat to 75C. Cut fruits into slices and place fruit, honey, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Mix with a blender and bring to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes, continue to cook over medium heat for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until thick and syrupy. Pour the hot fruit mixture onto baking sheet and spread evenly into approximately an 8 × 12 inch rectangle. Place in the oven and bake for 3 hours. After 3 hours have passed, turn off the oven and allow to sit overnight. Cut into strips with a pizza cutter and store in an airtight container.
